Meadows Veterinary Clinic first opened its doors in 1993. Since then, we have expanded our talented staff and our facility to better suit the community's needs for dog and cat care. We specialize in general health services with emphasis on disease prevention.

-Heartworm disease is spread through the bite of a mosquito.
-Heartworm disease has been diagnosed in all 50 states!
-In Illinois (so far for 2018), roughly 1 out of every 87 dogs tested through Antech or Idexx laboratories was positive.
-Dogs do not show symptoms of heartworm disease until their condition is advanced. Symptoms do not generally appear until at least 6 to 7 months after the infected mosquito bite occurred.
-Symptoms may include: lethargy, loss of appetite, weight loss, cough, loss of stamina, or swollen abdomen.
